The Inter-American Court and Commission: human-rights law of the Americas

The Inter-American Court of Human Rights publishes its judgments, advisory opinions, provisional measures and compliance monitoring free on its own website, in Spanish and English. The Inter-American Commission on Human Rights, part of the Organization of American States, has its own site in four languages. Think of them as the Americas' counterpart to the European Court of Human Rights covered in the first guide. A university project at Loyola Law School once built a searchable summary database of the Court's decisions with plain-language case summaries, which is a gentler way in. The Court's own pages are the authoritative text.
