Open Access and BOAI commitment

The project and its commitment

The Legal Gazette is a free legal and academic publishing project by Mr. Yuvraj, based in India and not currently formally registered or affiliated with an indexing agency, accreditation body or publishing organisation. The Legal Gazette is listed as The Legal Gazette — India in BOAI’s public organisation-signatures directory, checked on 25 October 2026, consistent with the project operator’s report of signing. Signing is a statement of commitment; it does not confer BOAI endorsement, certification, accreditation or indexing. The directory does not show a signing date. See https://www.budapestopenaccessinitiative.org/sign/signatures/.

Free access and no fees

Published TLG scholarship is available for reading, searching and downloading without payment, registration or compulsory non-essential cookies. TLG charges no submission, editorial-review, publication, reading or download fee. Author accounts protect private drafts and submission administration; they are not a barrier to reading published work. Original third-party websites have their own access terms.

Reuse must match the actual licence

BOAI’s goal extends beyond free reading to broad lawful reuse and machine access. TLG recommends CC BY 4.0 for new scholarly work where the rights holder can authorise it. CC BY permits sharing and adaptation, including commercial uses, subject to its terms. ShareAlike and NonCommercial options carry different conditions; reserved or custom terms do not automatically grant broad reuse. Existing articles are not retrospectively relicensed. Each published version displays its actual licence and relevant restrictions; third-party exclusions and other applicable rights remain relevant.

Author rights and repositories

Authors retain applicable copyright. We encourage non-exclusive publication grants and author deposit of the version they are entitled to share in institutional or disciplinary repositories, without unnecessary embargoes or TLG-imposed exclusivity. Check the actual licence, prior agreements and third-party permissions before depositing. Credit the author, title, TLG, publication date, version, original URL and licence, and identify changes. A repository copy must not imply author or TLG endorsement.

Accessible and discoverable scholarship

We provide public article HTML, available PDFs, stable article URLs, searchable local records, an updating sitemap and bibliographic downloads. Eligible scholarly pages include Google Scholar citation metadata, which supports discoverability but does not guarantee indexing. Reasonable security rate limits protect availability without requiring a reader account. Report accessibility barriers to info@thelegalgazette.org. Full WCAG conformance and complete multilingual PDF coverage have not been independently certified.

Transparent review and sustainability

Editorial decisions follow TLG’s published guidelines. Internal approval is not external accreditation or independent peer review by default. Our internal BOAI register records procedures, dated reviews, evidence, responsible roles and gaps. Private backups and version histories support recovery; no LOCKSS, CLOCKSS, Portico or perpetual-preservation arrangement is claimed. No paid identifier, integrity provider or preservation membership is required merely to use TLG. An exit and preservation plan remains an operational priority.
