Publication versions, corrections and preservation

Version record
First publication is Version 1; subsequent approved replacements receive new publication versions. Draft revisions are distinct. Authors cannot silently edit a published version. Publication history and editorial decisions are retained, subject to authorised deletion and applicable legal duties. A revision request permits drafting, not publication.
Corrections and serious concerns
Use /complaints to report corrections, authorship disputes or potential misconduct. Editors can request revisions, publish an approved corrected version or withdraw a work with recorded reasons. The public register at /publication-notices displays recorded publication and withdrawn status with version history. It does not publish private correspondence or deleted personal records. Dedicated expression-of-concern and reasoned retraction notice workflows remain unimplemented; editors must not imply they exist automatically. Removal can invalidate certificates. Lawful minimal withdrawal records may be retained.
Preservation limitations
Private database backups and retained versions support recovery but are not a certified long-term preservation programme. TLG is not currently integrated with LOCKSS, CLOCKSS or Portico, and guarantees no perpetual availability. DOI registration and authenticated ORCID are not configured. Article URLs and TLG publication references are internal identifiers, not DOIs. OAI-PMH is not currently implemented. Enabling a membership or paid service requires separate arrangements.
