Editorial review, reviewer confidentiality and appeals

What approval means
Every new website submission enters editorial review after required checks. An administrator/editor evaluates scope, completeness, rights and concerns. Approval alone is not evidence that a manuscript received external peer review. TLG does not label all content peer reviewed or imply recognition by a university, COPE or an indexing body.
Professor review
Approved professors may receive administrator-assigned blinded copies after an administrator checks that the copy is suitable. The reviewer workspace omits account identity fields; manuscript wording, acknowledgements or self-citations can still reveal identity. This process is not a guaranteed double-blind workflow. Reviewers declare conflicts, protect confidentiality and send reasoned feedback. A recommendation does not publish unless the administrator explicitly enabled publication for that exact revision and mandatory checks pass.
Editorial independence and appeals
Editors should assign conflicts to an independent handler, seek corrections and document decisions. A submitter may request clarification or appeal by emailing the article/request reference, reasons and evidence. Ask for an uninvolved reviewer where available; if independence cannot be provided, the limitation must be disclosed. Acceptance is not guaranteed and automated checks cannot adjudicate misconduct.
