Data retention and account requests

Accounts and manuscripts
Account information supports authentication, authorship and editorial administration. Drafts, submitted versions, rights declarations and editorial decisions have different retention needs. Submitted history is retained for provenance and disputes unless an authorised deletion decision applies. Public profile removal does not itself remove publications. Request access, correction, profile removal or deletion through Profile or the contact address. Identity checks may be required.
Operational records
OS Scan reports have a 30-day expiry. Verification codes expire after ten minutes and are single-use; email records keep delivery metadata and clear sensitive code bodies after delivery or expiry. Optional cookie preferences have their stated expiry in the Cookie Policy. Security, backup and audit records may remain for recovery, legal obligations or disputes. We do not promise immediate erasure from every backup.
Request handling
Explain the record and requested action; provide only necessary identifiers. We review legal retention, third-party rights and publication integrity before confirming scope. No universal fixed retention period is asserted for all records. Contact info@thelegalgazette.org for the current handling of a specific record.
