LawHelp.org: free legal aid and plain answers for people in the United States
LawHelp.org is a free network of statewide legal-information websites in the United States, aimed at people on low and moderate incomes. It helps visitors find free legal aid programmes in their area, gives answers about legal rights, and offers court forms. Pro Bono Net, an association for pro bono lawyers, hosts it, and the material is organised by state because so much law, from housing to benefits, depends on where you live. It informs and points you to help; it does not replace a lawyer. Think of it as the front desk of the American legal aid system, staffed by a website.
