Advicenow and the UK's free advice network: your rights, in plain English
Advicenow is a free, independent, not-for-profit website with plain-English information on legal rights in England and Wales, and it is published by the charity Law for Life. Its handpicked search points to free, up-to-date information from over 450 UK websites, and its own guides cover common problems, including a section for people going to court without a lawyer. Around it sit other free routes: Citizens Advice, the LawWorks network of more than 100 free legal advice clinics, and the government's find-legal-advice directory. None of them replaces a solicitor in a dispute, but they are where a lot of problems get sorted out before that point.
