Department of Legal Affairs, Ministry of Law & Justice
The government's own legal opinions desk

This is the ministry that actually advises the rest of the Indian government on law — treaty commitments, legal opinions on proposed policy, notifications. It's less a research database and more a window into how the executive branch thinks about legal risk, which makes it valuable if your question is "what has the government said about this," not "what does the statute say."
